RIPPLES. April 2019, Louvre Abu Dhabi |
You really don’t know it
when your parents are alive;
But every place becomes memorable
after they pass away.
I’m a child of the sea—
My life was anchored
to my Dad’s dedication;
Just as his life
was anchored
to our dependence.
I’m a child of the sea—
I have a lot of regrets,
and if God will grant me
one wish, it is going
to be about my Dad.
I’m a child of the sea—
They say that time heals
all wounds.
I guess it’s not true.
The feeling of loss
for my Dad is like a ship
that will never dock.
