Mommy Is Just Number Two

WHEN Mom asked you who do you love most, you just said she is number 2. Mommy was silent, but deep in her heart she felt sad and unsure. Maybe what she has been doing is not enough for you to keep her in number 1. She started to self-assess if she has been doing her part well. Maybe, on your part, Mommy was not deserving of number 1.

Mommy would like to say sorry for those times that she could not help you in doing your assignments and projects, those times that you feel you had no one because Mommy chose to be away, those times that Mommy wasn't there to say, "Good job!" when you get aces in school. 

But Mommy would like you to know that although she is just number 2, you are her number 1 reason why she had to be away, that you are her number 1 reason why she could not give up the fight no matter how many bad things happened to her abroad, that you are the number 1 reason why she just became number 2 in your life.

Mommy loves you more than you think you know, and now that you have turned ten years old Mommy is hoping that there will come a time that she will be so sure, that she does not need to ask where she is placed in your life.
